Long term self-excluded customers of the betting giant can have Gamban at no cost
Southampton, 26 March 2019 – Gamban, world leaders in self-exclusion technology, announce that UK based operator Sky Bet has chosen their software as part of a pilot scheme for self-excluded customers.
Sky Bet now makes Gamban available to long term self-excluded customers, and once proved successful, the objective is to roll out this pilot more widely. The software is known to block access to thousands of gambling websites across the globe, including many unlicensed platforms. It can be installed on mobile phones, computers and tablets.
After Gambleaware’s announcement of the Blocking Software Report, there has been an increased interest in how technology can play an important role in players’ safety. This applies to blocking software, as well as to money transactions, national self-exclusion schemes or any kind of technology-led checks and blocks.
Gamban’s CEO, Jack Symons, says “I am delighted that Sky Bet has decided to include blocking software in their Safety toolbox, and I am of course very happy that they have chosen Gamban, out of the available solutions”.
With regulation becoming tighter in many countries, and problem gambling now being something that the general population is more aware of, feeling safe in a gambling website is paramount.
For Jack Symons, “The number of operators taking player safety seriously is growing, but there is still a long way to go. I strongly believe that those doing only the bare minimum just to tick the compliance box will lose the sustainability battle to those that proactively look for additional safety tools and strategies.”
