If you had a Paddy Power or Betfair account before June 2025, your personal information may have been affected by a data incident.
The incident affected some customers of Paddy Power and Betfair, both of which are owned by Flutter Entertainment. If your information was involved, you could be eligible to make a claim, depending on your individual circumstances
The claim described below is available in England and Wales only.
Here's what we know about the breach, who may have been affected and where you can find out more.
What happened?
In June 2025, Flutter Entertainment experienced a data incident involving its Paddy Power and Betfair businesses.
An unauthorised third party gained access to limited betting account information belonging to some customers. Up to 800,000 customers were reportedly affected.
The information accessed included limited betting account information, such as:
- Usernames and email addresses
- Device IDs and IP addresses
- Some contact details, including names and the first line of addresses and cities
- Some recent account activity
- Technical data like your device ID and IP address
Flutter has said that passwords, identity documents and usable card or payment details were not compromised.
Who may have been affected?
Some Paddy Power and Betfair customers were affected. You may have been affected if you received a notification from Paddy Power or Betfair about the incident.
If your information was affected, whether you have a claim will depend on your individual circumstances. If you live in England or Wales, you can check if you could be eligible to claim:
- Had an account registered with Paddy Power or Betfair before June 2025
- Were personally affected by the data breach
- Live in England or Wales
- Suffered material damage such as financial loss or non-material damage such as genuine distress if you were impacted by the data breach
Betfair and Paddy Power contacted affected customers, so it may be worth checking your emails from Paddy Power or Betfair if you're unsure whether you were affected.
Having had an account does not automatically mean that your information was involved or that you are eligible to make a claim.
