We've been developing a whole host of new features, resources and valuable tools, which we'll be showcasing at SBC.

Assisting Their Efforts in Equipping Dutch Licenced Operators with the Necessary Tools to Help Their Players

The Netherlands officially opened its regulated online gambling market in October last year, clearing the way for players in the country to place legal sports bets and play online casino games over the internet.Since October, the Dutch market has continued to grow, as we now witness multiple new entrants to the marketplace. The KSA’s firm, no-nonsense approach to bad actors in their newly regulated market, has been eye-catching, especially when it comes to safer gambling and consumer protection. The Center of Responsible Gaming in Holland aim to deliver an impactful contribution to a safe and attractive gambling offering in the Netherlands by working with licenced Dutch operators. This is achieved by developing materials to help inform the player about safe and responsible play as well as creating awareness around the necessary tools and various forms of treatment available to anyone who falls into harms way, and helping operators navigate safer gambling policies. We are very happy to announce our affiliation with Centrum voor Verantwoord Spelen to help supplement their efforts in equipping Dutch licenced operators with the necessary tools to help them should their players become harmed by gambling.Gamban helps to protect people by blocking access to gambling sites and apps worldwide. Should people need to exclude themselves from any licensed or unlicenced presence, regardless of their jurisdiction, Gamban’s block works at device level. We look forward to assisting those within the Dutch population who are harmed by gambling.

Industry Leading Software Now in Spanish

The Gamban App Has Now Been Translated into Spanish

Our software Gamban, which blocks access to online gambling sites and apps across all of a person’s devices, is now available in Spanish and can be downloaded across all Spanish speaking countries. This comes at a time when the Spanish Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has offered support towards new governmental regulation aimed at achieving safer gambling in the country. In the UK, Gamban works with the self-exclusion scheme GAMSTOP, and the leading treatment provider GamCare, giving those experiencing harm from gambling access to their software for free through TalkBanStop.com. In the US, the company provides its software to leading gambling companies, Fanduel, Unibet, and more.Gamban also struck a partnership with Norway’s government-owned national lottery and gaming operator, Norsk Tipping, to provide its software for free to those who self-exclude.Jack Symons, CEO of Gamban, said:
“Spanish has the second largest population of native speakers in the world, so this is a really important step in ensuring blocking software is accessible to as many people harmed by gambling as possible.

“We’ve gone from strength to strength since we launched in 2015, setting the standard in gambling blocking software. Gamban’s used by thousands of people worldwide, and we’ve received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, with some users informing the team that it has literally saved their life. Taking the first step continues to be the hardest challenge and much of our time goes into making Gamban as simple and straightforward to install as possible.”
In 2018 GambleAware commissioned independent research to evaluate the effectiveness of blocking software and to compare existing products. Gamban emerged as the most effective and, as a result, Gamban has been provided free of charge through all Gamcare support networks in the UK.In 2018, Gamban was awarded Software Rising Star Award at the EGR B2B Awards and in 2019, Gamban won RegTech Provider of the Year at The GamblingCompliance Global Regulatory Awards.Gamban is designed to be a first step towards recovery from addiction, blocking thousands of gambling websites and apps globally. It is designed to be as difficult to remove as possible but promotes a layered approach to assist with gambling cessation. In the UK, Gamban has partnered with GAMSTOP - the national self-exclusion register - and GamCare, the leading treatment provider, forming the TalkBanStop pilot. This has made Gamban available at no cost to anyone from the UK.Gamban is not intended to be a standalone solution and the team continues to work extensively to connect schemes, tools and initiatives, ensuring that recovery from gambling addiction is both possible and achievable.

800-gambler Offers Gamban to Players Within New Jersey

Online Gambling in New Jersey
In 2013, the New Jersey government signed a bill, legalising online gambling within the state. Since the legalisation, most high-frequency gamblers played online as well as in land-based venues, followed only by online-only and land-based. A majority of online gamblers have reported gambling online before it became legal in New Jersey. These sites were illegal and unfortunately continue to be used.
New Jerseyan’s Relationship with Online Gambling
When surveyed, users claim the most influential factors in starting online gambling were: Convenience, 24‐7 access, the comfort of gambling from home, prizes such as bonuses and free credits and the use of free play or social media sites.Nearly half (42.4%) of non-problem gamblers gamble less than once a month (low frequency). However, among the low risk, moderate risk, and high-risk problem gambling groups, rates of high-frequency gambling were 51.6%, 61.3% and 89.4%, respectively. This is a particularly worrying amount, especially when considering more than 31% of online gamblers said they gambled online from work or during work hours; of those gamblers, 40% gambled one or two days a week and nearly 24% gambled three to five days per week.
Gamban and 800-Gambler
With the rise of online gambling in New Jersey, more and more people may find themselves at risk of developing a gambling problem. As such, we have partnered with the New Jersey Council on Compulsive Gambling (800GAMBLER). Now anyone in New Jersey, whose online gambling has become problematic, can claim Gamban to install on all their devices and block online gambling sites and apps. If you live in New Jersey and find yourself struggling with your relationship with gambling, reach out to 800-GAMBLER, A helpline for hope: support for gambling problems is just a phone call or click away.Click here to visit the 800-Gambler Website - https://800gambler.org/Or Call - 1.800.GAMBLER (246.2537)
